How to find the Bible in a particular language

Tuesday, July 24, 2007, 2:38 pm

Yesterday, I received an email from a man who identified himself as a Pakistani Christian. He was interested in having the Bible in Urdu and in Punjabi. I wrote back to him today, and I thought that some of the information I shared with him might be beneficial to others as well.

So, how can you find the Bible in a particular language?

Oh, and if you’re curious, you can download the Bible in Urdu courtesy of the IBS.

Curtis and I arrived back in Dallas on Friday evening. The night before we left Cameroon, we finished the video project we were doing for CABTAL (the Cameroonian Wycliffe organization). CABTAL will show this video in Bible schools and churches in Cameroon to raise awareness about and build support for Bible translation.

Curtis did most of the filming for the video and also a lot of the technical work in making the final project. I wrote the script and put in the French subtitles (though I did not translate into French — a Cameroonian man did that). We obtained CABTAL’s permission to post the finished video here on TTB. Please pray that God will use this tool to touch the hearts of Cameroonians and to encourage them to participate in Bible translation and related ministries in their country.
