Hoping for autumn
Leaves are changing and falling on the hill behind the house. The cynic in me wonders whether this is really fall or whether the trees are driven into dormancy by drought.
The hill belongs to Cedar Ridge Preserve, which I haven’t yet visited. I just discovered that a bird list for the preserve is under development this year. It would be fun to contribute to that. I’ll have to get in and explore before long.
Temperatures are well above normal so far, though the mornings are pleasant.
I wonder when White-throated Sparrows will arrive.
